Read the first chapter of Revelation, and then listen to it.

Prologue
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Greetings and Doxology
4 John,

To the seven churches in the province of Asia:

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

John’s Vision of Christ
9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

12 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

19 “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later. 20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

Isaiah 24
New International Version
The Lord’s Devastation of the Earth
24 See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth
and devastate it;
he will ruin its face
and scatter its inhabitants—
2 it will be the same
for priest as for people,
for the master as for his servant,
for the mistress as for her servant,
for seller as for buyer,
for borrower as for lender,
for debtor as for creditor.
3 The earth will be completely laid waste
and totally plundered.
The Lord has spoken this word.

4 The earth dries up and withers,
the world languishes and withers,
the heavens languish with the earth.
5 The earth is defiled by its people;
they have disobeyed the laws,
violated the statutes
and broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore a curse consumes the earth;
its people must bear their guilt.
Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up,
and very few are left.

John blinked, feeling a surge of power in the air. He stood on the island of Patmos, the sun beating down on him. His heart raced as he realized he was about to witness something extraordinary. “I was in the Spirit,” John muttered to himself, trying to make sense of the experience. Suddenly, a voice boomed behind him like a trumpet, commanding him to write down what he saw and send it to the seven churches. Heart pounding, John turned slowly to face the voice. Before him stood seven golden lampstands, casting a warm glow. Among them stood a figure like a son of man, radiant and powerful. The figure wore a long robe with a golden sash and had hair as white as snow. His eyes blazed like fire, and his feet shone like bronze. John felt a mixture of awe and fear at the sight before him. In the figure’s hand were seven stars, and a sharp sword emerged from his mouth. His face radiated with a brilliance that was almost blinding. John fell to his knees, overwhelmed by the presence of this divine being. “Do not be afraid,” the figure spoke, his voice like rushing waters. “I am the First and the Last, the Living One.” John listened intently as the figure revealed his identity and purpose. He felt a sense of peace wash over him as he heard the words spoken with authority and grace. “Write down what you have seen,” the figure instructed, “and what is to come.” John nodded, his hand trembling as he prepared to document this extraordinary encounter. The figure’s words echoed in his mind as he tried to process the profound significance of what he had just witnessed. The focus of Revelation is Christ the Deliverer and Christ tells the story to John As Christ continued to reveal the visions to John, the air crackled with energy. John’s pen raced across the parchment, capturing every detail of the divine message. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” Christ declared, his voice resonating with power. ” Write what you see and send it to my servants.” John gazed in awe at the scenes unfolding before him. He saw seven golden lampstands representing the seven churches, each holding a vital significance in the grand design of things. “The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches,” Christ explained, his eyes full of compassion and authority. ” And I hold them in my hand, guiding and protecting them.” As John absorbed these revelations, he felt a sense of purpose wash over him. He understood that these messages were not just for him but for the churches and believers who would come after him. “The time is near,” Christ proclaimed, his words echoing with a sense of urgency. ” Repent and return to me, for I stand at the door and knock.” John’s heart swelled with emotion as he realized the gravity of Christ’s message. He knew that these words carried weight and importance beyond measure. “I am the Root and Offspring of David,” Christ declared, his presence filling the space around them. “I am the bright Morning Star, shining in the darkness.” John’s hand trembled as he continued to write, each word etching itself into his memory. He knew that these revelations would shape the future of the churches and believers who followed in his footsteps. God knew people would not believe in Him so God has a plan for all creation to go through a judgement which will wash all earthy desires from their minds. The Lord’s Devastation of the Earth See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants— it will be the same for priest as for people, for the master as for his servant, for the mistress as for her servant, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word. In the wake of the divine message, a sense of foreboding settled over John. He felt the weight of the Lord’s words pressing down on him, a heavy burden of prophecy and warning. As John contemplated the devastation to come, a vision unfolded before his eyes. He saw the earth laid waste, its once-thriving cities reduced to rubble and ruin. The Lord’s hand moved with swift and terrible purpose, bringing destruction upon all who dwelled upon the land. The earth trembled beneath the Lord’s wrath, its very foundations shaken by the power of his judgment. John saw people of all walks of life, from priests to servants, masters to mistresses, all brought low by the hand of God. There was no distinction in the Lord’s devastation; all were equal in his eyes, all subject to his righteous anger. The earth was stripped bare, its riches plundered, its inhabitants scattered like dust in the wind. As John beheld the scene unfolding before him, a sense of awe and dread gripped his heart. He knew that these visions were not just symbols but a stark reality that would come to pass. The Lord’s words echoed in John’s mind, a solemn declaration of what was to come. The earth would be completely laid waste, its once-proud civilizations brought low by the hand of their Creator. With trembling hands, John continued to write, his pen scratching across the parchment as he captured the enormity of the Lord’s judgment. The weight of his task bore down on him as he sought to faithfully record the unfolding prophecy. The Lord has spoken this word,” John wrote, his hand faltering slightly as he finished documenting the vision of devastation and ruin. The message was clear: none would escape the Lord’s judgment, and all would be held accountable for their actions.

Lesson 2

Revelation 2
New International Version
To the Church in Ephesus
2 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

To the Church in Smyrna
8 “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write:

These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. 9 I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.

The Way of the Cross

Mark 8

34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

Bible Study Chapter 2 summary

Revelation Chapter 2Message to the Church In the ancient city of Ephesus, the church stood as a beacon of faith amidst the bustling streets and marketplaces. The believers gathered, their hearts filled with devotion and zeal as they worshiped together. A messenger arrived, bearing a scroll inscribed with words of warning and guidance for the church in Ephesus. The congregation hushed as the message was read aloud, each word carrying the weight of divine authority. “These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands,” the messenger intoned, his voice echoing through the sanctuary. “I know your deeds, your hard work, and your perseverance.” The congregation listened intently, their faces reflecting a mixture of pride and anticipation as their faithfulness was acknowledged by the divine voice. “I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people,” the messenger continued, “that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.” The believers nodded in agreement, their resolve strengthened by the knowledge that their discernment had been recognized and commended. “You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name,” the messenger proclaimed, “and have not grown weary.” A murmur of gratitude rippled through the congregation, their hearts lifted by the assurance that their sacrifices had not gone unnoticed. “Yet I hold this against you,” the messenger’s voice took on a somber tone, “You have forsaken the love you had at first.” The church fell silent, a sense of unease settling over them as they considered these words of rebuke. The messenger’s warning hung heavy in the air, a call to repentance and renewal. “Consider how far you have fallen,” the messenger’s voice rang out with urgency. ” Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” The congregation listened with bated breath, their hearts stirred by the gravity of the warning. The message was clear: they must return to their first love or face dire consequences. “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. In the city of Smyrna, a small gathering of believers met in a humble meeting place, their faces reflecting a mix of weariness and resilience. As they listened to the words being read aloud, a sense of solemnity settled over the room. “These are the words of him who is the First and the Last,” the messenger’s voice carried the weight of authority, “who died and came to life again.” The congregation leaned in, their hearts stirred by the reminder of the divine presence among them, despite their afflictions and poverty. “I know your afflictions and your poverty,” the messenger continued, “yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.” A murmur of agreement rippled through the room, the believers nodding in recognition of the challenges they faced from those who sought to discredit and harm them. “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer,” the messenger’s voice held a note of reassurance. “The devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days.” The congregation exchanged knowing glances, a sense of determination flickering in their eyes as they braced themselves for the trials ahead. “Be faithful, even to the point of death,” the messenger’s voice rang out with conviction, “and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” The believers sat in solemn silence, their hearts stirred by the promise of victory in the face of persecution. The message was clear: they were called to endure with unwavering faith, trusting in the ultimate triumph that awaited them. “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches,” the messenger’s voice echoed through the room. “The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.” The Way of the Cross Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” The streets of Jerusalem bustled with activity as Jesus stood before the crowd, his disciples gathered around him. His words carried a weight of solemnity as he addressed them, his gaze unwavering. “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me,” Jesus declared, his voice commanding attention. The crowd grew still, their eyes fixed on him, absorbing the gravity of his words. “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it,” Jesus continued, his tone unwavering. ” But whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. ” His words hung in the air, a challenge and a promise intertwined. “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” Jesus’s voice carried a note of urgency. The crowd shifted uneasily, grappling with the stark choice laid before them. “Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” Jesus’s question echoed through the crowd, stirring contemplation and conviction in equal measure. “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation,” Jesus’s voice held a solemn warning, “the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” The crowd stood in silence, the weight of Jesus’s words settling upon them like a heavy mantle. His call to discipleship was clear: to follow him was to embrace sacrifice and obedience, to forsake worldly gain for the sake of eternal salvation. As the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the city streets, the crowd dispersed, each individual left to ponder the choice set before them by the one who walked among them, bearing his cross.

Lesson 3

Revelation Chapter 2

“To the angel of the church in Pergamum write:

These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.

Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

To the Church in Thyatira
“To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:

These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.

Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’

To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—just as I have received authority from my Father. I will also give that one the morning star. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Message to the church The congregation in Pergamum assembled under the cover of twilight, their faces illuminated by the flickering glow of torchlight. Their gathering place, a modest structure of stone and wood, stood defiantly amidst the grandeur of pagan temples that dominated the cityscape. It was a place where Satan was believed to hold sway, yet these believers held fast to their faith. A hush fell over the room as the messenger stepped forward, parchment in hand. “To the angel of the church in Pergamum,” he began, his voice echoing off the stone walls. “These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.” The messenger’s voice held a note of gravity. The room was silent save for the rustling of robes and the crackle of torchlight against the night’s stillness. “I know where you live—where Satan has his throne.” The messenger continued, his gaze sweeping across the attentive faces. ” Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.” A murmur ran through the congregation at the mention of Antipas. His memory served as a sobering reminder of their commitment to faith amidst adversity. “Nevertheless,” the messenger’s voice took on a stern tone, “I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality.” A palpable tension filled the room as those words hung in the air. The sin of Balaam – an infamous figure from their sacred texts – being committed within their midst was a harsh indictment. “Likewise,” he continued, “you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore!” The messenger’s voice rang out, the call to repentance echoing off the stone walls. “Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” His words were a stark warning, a divine threat of retribution against those who strayed from the path of righteousness. The messenger paused, allowing his words to sink in before he continued. “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” The believers nodded in understanding, their hearts stirred by the call to heed the Spirit’s words. “To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. ” His words ended on a note of promise and mystery, hinting at rewards unknown for those who would stand firm in their faith. To the Church in Thyatira “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. I will also give that one the morning star. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. In Thyatira, a city known for its trade and craftsmanship, the faithful gathered in a modest meeting place, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of oil lamps. The air was heavy with anticipation as they listened to the messenger’s solemn words. “These are the words of the Son of God,” the messenger began, his voice resonating with authority. “I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.” A murmur of approval rippled through the congregation at the acknowledgment of their efforts. They sat a little straighter, their hearts lifted by the praise. “Nevertheless,” the messenger’s tone grew somber, “I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. ” The mention of Jezebel sent a shiver through the room, her name synonymous with deceit and corruption. “By her teaching,” the messenger continued, “she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. ” The weight of his words hung heavy in the air, a stark reminder of the dangers lurking within their midst. “I have given her time to repent,” his voice held a note of warning, “but she is unwilling.” The congregation tensed at the implications of divine judgment looming on the horizon. “So I will cast her on a bed of suffering,” the messenger’s words were uncompromising, “and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely unless they repent of her ways.” A hush fell over the room as his proclamation echoed off the walls, each word sinking into the hearts of the listeners like stones thrown into still waters. The severity of the consequences was clear, a line drawn in the sand between righteousness and corruption. “I will also give that one the morning star,” his voice softened slightly, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. The promise of victory for those who remained steadfast in their faith hung in the air like a beacon of light in a storm-tossed sea. “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” His words lingered in the silence, a call to heed the divine message and hold fast to their convictions in the face of temptation. Awaiting the New Body For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. In Thyatira, as the messenger’s voice faded into the stillness of the room, a heavy silence settled over the congregation. The weight of his words lingered in the air, a somber reminder of the consequences of straying from the path of righteousness. Eyes flickered with a mix of apprehension and resolve, each heart grappling with the gravity of the message. As the flickering oil lamps cast dancing shadows across the faces of the believers, a figure rose from amidst the assembly. It was Lydia, a woman known for her unwavering faith and gentle spirit. Her voice, soft yet unwavering, pierced the silence. “Brothers and sisters,” she began, her gaze sweeping across the room, “we stand at a crossroads, where our faith is tested and our convictions laid bare. Let us not falter in the face of temptation, but stand firm in our commitment to the Lord.” Her words resonated with a quiet strength, infusing courage into the hearts of those gathered. The congregation nodded in agreement, their eyes reflecting a steely determination to remain faithful amidst adversity. “We are but pilgrims in this earthly tent,” Lydia continued, her voice carrying a note of conviction, “awaiting the promise of our eternal dwelling in heaven. Let us not be swayed by false teachings or led astray by deceit, but hold fast to the truth that has been entrusted to us.” Her words hung in the air like a sacred vow, a solemn pledge to remain steadfast in their devotion to the Lord. The flickering light cast a soft glow upon her face, illuminating the resolve etched in every line and curve. “As we journey towards our heavenly home,” Lydia’s voice rose with fervor, “let us strive to please Him in all that we do, whether in body or spirit. For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ, where our deeds shall be weighed and our faith tested.” The congregation listened intently, their hearts stirred by Lydia’s words of wisdom and encouragement. In that moment, amidst the shadows and flickering light, a sense of unity and purpose filled the room—a shared commitment to walk the path of righteousness no matter the trials that lay ahead.

Revelation 3
New International Version
To the Church in Sardis
3 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

4 Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5 The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. 6 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To the Church in Philadelphia
7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:

These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To the Church in Laodicea
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

They sat in tense silence, absorbing the gravity of his message like a heavy cloak draped over their shoulders. “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars,” the messenger’s voice boomed with authority, his gaze piercing through the shadows that enveloped the room. The listeners held their breath, hanging on his every word. “I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. ” The weight of his accusation settled over the assembly like a leaden shroud, casting a pall of unease over their hearts. Murmurs rippled through the crowd, a mixture of disbelief and realization dawning on their faces. “Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die,” his voice grew urgent, “for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.” His words cut through the stillness like a sharp blade, urging them to shake off their complacency and rise to meet the challenges before them. “Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.” The messenger’s tone softened slightly, a note of mercy woven into his stern admonition. His words hung in the air like a lifeline, offering them a chance at redemption if they chose to heed his call. “But if you do not wake up,” his voice grew somber once more, “I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. ” The congregation shifted uneasily in their seats, the gravity of his warning sinking deep into their souls. “Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes,” the messenger’s words shifted, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. “They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.” To the Church in Philadelphia “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches In the hushed sanctuary of the church in Philadelphia, the congregation gathered, their hearts open and eager for the words that would come. A new messenger stood before them, his presence commanding attention as he began to speak. “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David,” his voice rang out with a sense of reverence. The listeners leaned in, captivated by his solemn proclamation. “What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds,” the messenger’s voice carried a tone of knowing, as if he could see into the depths of their souls. The congregation held their breath, awaiting his next words. “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut,” his words filled the room with a sense of promise and possibility. “I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. ” A murmur of affirmation rippled through the assembly, a quiet acknowledgment of their steadfast faith. “I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan come and fall down at your feet,” his voice grew resolute, a note of divine justice underscoring his words. “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world.” “I am coming soon,” the messenger’s voice rang out with certainty. ” Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. ” His words resonated with a sense of urgency, urging them to stand firm in their faith. “The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God,” his voice softened slightly, carrying a hint of reverence for those who remained steadfast. ” Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem.” “Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches,” his final words lingered in the air, a call to heed the message delivered to them. I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. To the Church in Laodicea “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” The messenger’s voice reverberated through the grand hall of the church in Laodicea, his words cutting through the air with a sharp clarity that left no room for misinterpretation. “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation,” his voice carried a weight of authority that demanded attention. The congregation sat on edge, awaiting the message that would soon be delivered to them. “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot,” the messenger’s voice held a note of disappointment, as if he expected more from them. “I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” Murmurs of unease rippled through the assembly, a collective realization dawning on their faces as his words sank in. They shifted uncomfortably in their seats, grappling with the stark assessment laid before them. “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked,” the messenger’s voice held a tinge of sorrow. His words struck a chord within them, exposing the true state of their hearts laid bare. “I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see,” his words carried a glimmer of hope amidst the stark truth he had unveiled. “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent,” his voice softened slightly, a note of compassion underscoring his admonition. The congregation sat in silence, pondering his words and weighing the path set before them.

Prepare for War

The atmosphere in the church shifted palpably, a sense of anticipation hanging heavy in the air. The congregants gathered in solemn preparation, their eyes alight with a flicker of resolve. The time for complacency had passed; now, they readied themselves for war. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the hallowed halls, a voice echoed through the chamber. It was a voice that spoke of ancient truths and divine purpose, resonating with a power that stirred the very foundations of the earth. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock,” the voice intoned, its timbre carrying a weight of authority that brooked no argument. “If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” The congregation listened with bated breath, their hearts quickening with a sense of recognition. This was the call they had been waiting for, the summons to rise and fight against the forces of darkness that sought to engulf them. “I am called by the Heavenly Father to deliver you from oppression,” the voice continued, its words ringing out with a clarity that cut through the silence like a sword. ” Prepare yourselves, for the Day of the Lord is at hand.” Whispers of awe rippled through the assembly, a reverent hush falling over the gathered faithful. The prophecies of old had spoken of this day, when justice would be meted out and righteousness would prevail. “Arise, my children,” the voice commanded, its tone resolute and unwavering. ” Gird yourselves with faith and take up the armor of light. The time has come to stand firm against the darkness that threatens to consume us.” With hearts aflame and spirits renewed, the congregation rose as one, their faces set in grim determination. They knew what lay ahead would not be easy, but they also knew that they were not alone. In unity and faith, they prepared to face the trials that awaited them, ready to stand as beacons of hope in a world shrouded in shadow. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword And I hold the keys of death and Hades. See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants— The figure at the pulpit stood tall and commanding, his presence exuding a sense of authority that brooked no defiance. In his right hand, he held seven stars, their ethereal glow casting a soft radiance around him. As he spoke, his words rang out with a power that seemed to reverberate through the very walls of the church. “And coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword,” he proclaimed, his voice cutting through the stillness like a blade. The congregation watched in rapt attention, their eyes fixed on the speaker as though drawn by an unseen force. “I hold the keys of death and Hades,” he declared, his gaze sweeping over the assembled faithful. There was a weight to his words, a solemnity that spoke of the gravity of the task ahead. “See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it,” he continued, his tone unwavering. ” He will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants.” The words hung heavy in the air, a foreboding sense of impending judgment settling over the congregation. Each listener felt a chill run down their spine, a primal instinct stirring within them at the prophecy laid bare before them. As the speaker fell silent, a palpable tension filled the chamber, the air thick with unspoken fear and uncertainty. The congregants exchanged wary glances, each one grappling with the weight of what had been revealed to them. And in that moment of profound silence, a sense of destiny loomed large, casting a long shadow over all who stood within the sacred walls of the church. The stage was set for a reckoning unlike any other, where choices made would shape the course of history itself. The Lamb of God sits on the throne in heaven and declares to the churches what to expect in the Great Day of the Lord. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations—  that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—just as I have received authority from my Father.  I will also give that one the morning star. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.  The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. In the celestial realm, the Lamb of God sat upon the throne, a figure of unparalleled majesty and grace. His eyes, pools of infinite wisdom, gazed down upon the churches below, his voice resonating with a power that stirred the very fabric of creation. “To the one who is victorious,” he declared, his words carrying the weight of eternity, “I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.” The promise hung in the air like a beacon of hope, a reward reserved for those who remained steadfast in their faith. “The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death,” he continued, his voice unwavering. ” These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.” The assurance of protection echoed through the heavens, a shield against the darkness that threatened to engulf them. “To the one who is victorious,” he proclaimed, his gaze piercing through time and space, “I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. ” The gifts promised spoke of a renewal beyond comprehension, a transformation of soul and spirit. “And to the one who is victorious and does my will to the end,” he declared, his voice carrying a note of finality, “I will give authority over the nations. That one will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery—just as I have received authority from my Father. ” The promise of dominion over realms unseen instilled a sense of purpose in those who listened. “I will also give that one the morning star,” he continued, his words a harbinger of dawn. “They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy.” The vision of companionship and purity beckoned to those who longed for redemption. “The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white,” he proclaimed, his voice a clarion call. “I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. ” The assurance of everlasting grace echoed through eternity, a promise written in stars. “The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God,” he intoned, his words etching themselves into the fabric of reality. “Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God.” The assurance of permanence and belonging resonated within those who listened. “To the one who is victorious,” he concluded, his voice a benediction, “I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. ” The promise of union with divinity beckoned to those who sought communion with the divine. Message to the seven churches prepare for war. I will lead the fight you will follow Jesus as Lord.

The Throne in Heaven
4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“‘Holy, holy, holy

is the Lord God Almighty,’

who was, and is, and is to come.”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

Daniel 7

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.”

7 “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.

8 “While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.

9 “As I looked,

“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,

and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated,
and the books were opened.

Daniel stood amidst the kingdom of Babylon, the sun beating down on the arid landscape of modern-day Iraq. As he gazed upon the remnants of a great civilization, a sense of foreboding crept over him, a whisper of prophecy echoing in his mind. In the distance, the bustling city of Baghdad stood as a stark contrast to the silent ruins we now see. Daniel knew that within these lands, a new kingdom would rise, one that would reshape the world as they knew it. The words of the prophecy weighed heavily on his heart as he pondered the future that lay ahead. He could sense the hand of destiny at play, guiding the course of nations towards a final reckoning. As the sun began its descent towards the horizon, casting long shadows across the desert sands, My thoughts turned to Ismael, the son of Abraham. It was said that from his lineage would emerge a ruler who would ascend to the throne of the final kingdom, a realm forged from the union of Israel and nine surrounding Islamic nations. The idea of Ismael’s descendants ruling over this vast domain filled Daniel with a sense of unease. He knew that their reign would not be one of peace and prosperity, but one of oppression and servitude. The prophecy loomed over me like a specter, its words painting a grim picture of a future wrought with conflict and subjugation. Daniel could feel the weight of history bearing down on him, as if he were but a pawn in a cosmic game played out by forces beyond mortal comprehension. And as I stand there, surrounded by the echoes of ancient empires long gone, I knew that the time for action was drawing near. The seeds of destiny had been sown, and soon they would bear fruit in ways that none could foresee. The Antichrist of Iraq comes in our near future. Daniel saw it thousands of years ago. It affects our generation since Israel was reestablished in 1947. “In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will control those who are mighty, the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. My eyes scanned the horizon, a deep furrow forming between my brows as I contemplated the ancient prophecy I had studied for years. The words echoed in my mind like a solemn warning, a harbinger of dark times to come. I could sense the shadow of the Antichrist looming over the land, a figure shrouded in mystery and deceit, destined to rise to power in the latter days. As I stood amidst the ruins of Babylon, the weight of the prophecy pressed down on me like a heavy stone, filling me with a sense of urgency. The events of recent history flashed before my eyes, the reestablishment of Israel in 1947 signaling the beginning of a new chapter in the unfolding saga. The pieces were falling into place, the stage set for the arrival of the fierce-looking king who would bring devastation and destruction in his wake. My heart clenched with dread as I thought of the holy people who would suffer at the hands of this master of intrigue. The Antichrist’s power would be formidable, his deeds astounding in their scope and cruelty. I could almost see the future unfolding before me, a dark tapestry woven with deceit and betrayal. The Antichrist would rise to heights of power, considering himself superior to all others. And in his arrogance, he would unleash untold horrors upon the world, taking his stand against even the Prince of princes. As I pondered these chilling words, a sense of urgency gripped me. The time was drawing near, the final confrontation between light and darkness looming on the horizon. The fate of nations hung in the balance, their destinies intertwined in ways that few could comprehend. With a heavy heart, I knew that I must prepare for the coming storm. Revelation Chapter 6The Antichrist The prophecy had spoken, and its words would not be denied. The Antichrist was coming, and with him, a reckoning that would shake the very foundations of the world. The man of peace would end nuclear war for the middle east. He wants to rule all nations but God forces him to invade Syria and Iraq causing world war three. My heart raced as he delved deeper into the prophecy, my mind grappling with the weight of the words. The man of peace, a figure shrouded in deception, was destined to rise in the midst of chaos and bring an end to nuclear war in the Middle East. The thought sent a shiver down my spine, knowing that such a man would hold the fate of nations in his hands. As I continued to study the ancient text, a sense of dread settled over me. The man of peace harbored ambitions far beyond his facade of harmony and unity. His desire to rule all nations was a thirst for power that would not be quenched by mere diplomacy. But the hand of God, it seemed, had other plans. The man of peace would be forced to show his true colors, compelled by divine intervention to invade Syria and Iraq. The consequences of his actions would be catastrophic, plunging the world into the chaos of World War Three. My breath caught in my throat as I contemplated the unfolding events. The prophecy was coming to pass before my very eyes, its words a chilling reminder of the inexorable march towards destruction. The realization hit me like a thunderbolt. The man of peace, once heralded as a savior, would now be the harbinger of devastation on a global scale. As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place, I knew that the time for action was at hand. With a heavy heart, I understood that the path ahead was fraught with peril. The world stood on the brink of annihilation, caught in the grip of forces beyond mortal comprehension. And as I looked out upon the horizon, I knew that the storm was coming, unstoppable and unforgiving.

Revelation 5

Revelation 5
New International Version
The Scroll and the Lamb
5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

Isaiah 13:6-16
New International Version
6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,
every heart will melt with fear.
8 Terror will seize them,
pain and anguish will grip them;
they will writhe like a woman in labor.
They will look aghast at each other,
their faces aflame.

9 See, the day of the Lord is coming
—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.
10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.
The rising sun will be darkened
and the moon will not give its light.
11 I will punish the world for its evil,
the wicked for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty
and will humble the pride of the ruthless.
12 I will make people scarcer than pure gold,
more rare than the gold of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;
and the earth will shake from its place
at the wrath of the Lord Almighty,
in the day of his burning anger.

Ezekiel 30:1-3
New International Version
A Lament Over Egypt
30 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘Wail and say,
“Alas for that day!”
3 For the day is near,
the day of the Lord is near—
a day of clouds,
a time of doom for the nations.

Revelation Bible Study Chapter 7

Jesus “The Deliverer is called” The weight of the prophecy bore down on me like a heavy burden as I stood amidst the ruins, the words of Jesus echoing in my mind. His parable about the kingdom of heaven and the sowing of good seed felt like a warning, a tale of deception lurking in the shadows. I could almost see the fields stretching out before me, the golden wheat swaying in the breeze under the watchful eye of the farmer. But beneath the surface, a sinister presence lurked, ready to sow discord and chaos among the peaceful crop. The image of the enemy sneaking in under cover of night, spreading weeds among the wheat, sent a chill down my spine. It was a subtle act of sabotage, designed to undermine the work of the righteous and sow confusion and discord in its wake. As I pondered the parable, I could feel the tension building, a sense of unease settling over me like a shroud. The servants’ confusion mirrored my own as they questioned the origin of the weeds among the wheat, their voices filled with doubt and concern. The owner’s calm response belied the gravity of the situation, his words carrying a weight that hung heavy in the air. The knowledge that an enemy had infiltrated their midst filled me with a sense of foreboding, a creeping sense of dread at the betrayal lurking in their midst. The decision to let the wheat and weeds grow together until the harvest seemed like a dangerous gamble, a risky proposition with unknown consequences. The thought of allowing evil to flourish alongside good sent a shiver down my spine, a stark reminder of the fragility of righteousness in a world consumed by deceit and treachery. But as I watched the drama unfold in my mind’s eye, I knew that there was more to this parable than met the eye. The battle between light and darkness was about to reach its climax, and the fate of all hung in the balance. Then Jesus left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one,  and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. As Jesus left the crowd and retreated into the quiet of the house, I felt a sense of anticipation building within me. His disciples, voices tinged with curiosity and confusion, sought understanding in his words, eager for enlightenment in the shadows of uncertainty. “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man,” Jesus began, his voice steady and sure. “The field is the world, and the good seed represents the people of the kingdom. ” His words painted a vivid picture in my mind, a tapestry of light and darkness woven together in a delicate balance. With each revelation, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place, clarity dawning like a beacon in the night. The weeds, symbols of chaos and discord, were the offspring of the evil one, a malignant force seeking to corrupt and destroy. The enemy behind this insidious plot was none other than the devil himself, a shadowy figure lurking in the shadows of creation. As Jesus spoke of the harvest at the end of days, a chill ran down my spine. The angels as reapers, separating the wheat from the chaff with divine precision, their judgment swift and final. The image of sinners cast into the fiery furnace, their cries echoing in the darkness, sent a shiver through my soul. But amidst the darkness, a glimmer of hope emerged like a beacon in the night. The righteous would shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father, their souls pure and untarnished by evil. Jesus’s words carried a promise of redemption, a glimpse of salvation in a world on the brink of destruction. I hung on his every word, my heart pounding with a mixture of fear and awe. The weight of his revelation settled over me like a heavy cloak, filling me with a sense of purpose and resolve. As he concluded his teachings with a solemn plea for understanding, I felt a sense of urgency gripping my soul. “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Jesus speaks the parable The air was heavy with anticipation as Jesus’s voice filled the room, his words weaving a tapestry of truth and revelation. The disciples leaned in, their eyes wide with wonder, as he began to speak of the kingdom of heaven once more. “The kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake,” Jesus’s voice was calm yet filled with a sense of urgency. The image of the fishermen casting their nets into the depths of the water conjured a sense of mystery and power, a reminder of the unseen forces at work in the world. As he described the net filling with all kinds of fish, my mind raced with possibilities. The chaotic dance of the fish trapped in the net mirrored the struggles of humanity, caught in the web of destiny and fate. The fishermen’s task of sorting the good from the bad spoke to a deeper truth, a reckoning looming on the horizon. With each word, Jesus painted a vivid picture of the final judgment, a scene filled with divine justice and mercy. The angels as arbiters of fate, separating the wicked from the righteous with unyielding precision. The image of the blazing furnace waiting to consume the unrighteous sent a shiver down my spine, a stark reminder of the consequences of sin and rebellion. As Jesus concluded his parable, his words hung in the air like a heavy curtain, casting a shadow over our gathering. The disciples’ faces were etched with solemnity, their hearts heavy with the weight of his revelation. The vision of the end of days loomed large in our minds, a reminder of the fragility of life and the certainty of divine judgment. The room fell silent, each of us lost in our own thoughts and fears. The truth in Jesus’s words resonated deep within me, stirring a sense of urgency and resolve. The knowledge that the final judgment awaited us all filled me with a sense of purpose, a determination to live righteously in the face of darkness and uncertainty. And as we sat in silence, contemplating the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, I knew that our journey was far from over. The road ahead was fraught with challenges and trials, but in Jesus’s teachings, I found solace and strength to face whatever lay ahead. The mystery of the end days is revealed to you. The Heavenly Father calls His Son Jesus to deliver the people and the angels do the will of Christ who leads the judgement. All this pain and suffering is caused by people who refuse the Love of God and cling to evil and cold oppressive ways.

The Nuclear War part 1

Revelation 6
New International Version
The Seals

6 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

Isaiah 34
New International Version
Judgment Against the Nations
34 Come near, you nations, and listen;
pay attention, you peoples!
Let the earth hear, and all that is in it,
the world, and all that comes out of it!
2 The Lord is angry with all nations;
his wrath is on all their armies.
He will totally destroy them,

he will give them over to slaughter.
3 Their slain will be thrown out,
their dead bodies will stink;
the mountains will be soaked with their blood.
4 All the stars in the sky will be dissolved
and the heavens rolled up like a scroll;
all the starry host will fall
like withered leaves from the vine,
like shriveled figs from the fig tree.

5 My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens;
see, it descends in judgment on Edom,
the people I have totally destroyed.
6 The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood,
it is covered with fat—
the blood of lambs and goats,
fat from the kidneys of rams.
For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah
and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 And the wild oxen will fall with them,
the bull calves and the great bulls.
Their land will be drenched with blood,
and the dust will be soaked with fat.

8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.

Revelation Bible Study Chapter 8 The Nuclear War

The nations trembled as Jesus’s voice thundered across the earth, his words echoing through the valleys and mountains, a harbinger of divine wrath. The people listened in fear and awe, their hearts heavy with the weight of his anger. “Come near, you nations, and listen; pay attention, you peoples!” Jesus’s voice boomed like a clap of thunder, commanding the attention of all who dwelled on the earth. The heavens themselves seemed to quiver at his words, the very air crackling with tension. “Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes out of it!” His voice carried a note of finality, a declaration of judgment that brooked no argument. The nations held their breath, awaiting his verdict with bated breath. “The Jesus is angry with all nations; his wrath is on all their armies.” The skies darkened as he spoke, a storm brewing on the horizon as if in response to his fury. The armies of the world cowered before his divine wrath, their weapons useless against the might of his power. “He will totally destroy them; he will give them over to slaughter. ” The ground shook beneath their feet, a tremor signaling the impending doom that awaited the nations. The stench of death hung heavy in the air, a grim reminder of the price of disobedience. “Their slain will be thrown out; their dead bodies will stink; the mountains will be soaked with their blood. ” The earth groaned under the weight of their sin, the blood of the fallen staining the land crimson with guilt and shame. The rivers ran red with the blood of the wicked, a testament to their folly and arrogance. “All the stars in the sky will be dissolved, and the heavens rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree. ” The celestial bodies themselves trembled at his words, their light dimming in anticipation of the end times. The universe seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the final reckoning that would shake the very foundations of creation. Origins and Development: During World War II, major scientific breakthroughs led to the development of nuclear weapons. The United Kingdom initiated the world’s first nuclear weapons research project, codenamed Tube Alloys, in 1941. The United States, collaborating with the UK and Canada, launched the Manhattan Project in 1942 to build a weapon using nuclear fission. In August 1945, the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, marking the only use of nuclear weapons in hostilities to date. These bombings had devastating effects on the cities and their populations. Types of Nuclear Weapons: Fission Weapons (Atomic Bombs): These rely on nuclear fission, where the nucleus of a fissile atom (such as enriched uranium) absorbs a neutron, becomes unstable, and splits into two new atoms. The energy released is enormous. Fusion Weapons (Hydrogen Bombs): Also known as thermonuclear bombs, these combine nuclear fusion and fission reactions. Fusion weapons release energy through the fusion of hydrogen isotopes, resulting in even greater destructive power. Destructive Power: The significance of nuclear weapons can be understood by terms like kiloton (1,000 tons) and megaton (1,000,000 tons), which describe their blast energy in equivalent weights of conventional explosive TNT. For instance, the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima contained only about 64 kg (140 pounds) of highly enriched uranium but released energy equivalent to about 15 kilotons of chemical explosive. The immediate effects included a shock wave, intense heat, and lethal ionizing radiation. Global Impact and Dangers: Proliferation: The number of states with nuclear capabilities has grown over time. Countries like the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea possess nuclear weapons. Deterrence and Brinkmanship: Nuclear weapons have shaped international relations, leading to strategies of deterrence and brinkmanship. Ethical Concerns: The ethical implications of possessing and potentially using nuclear weapons remain a topic of debate. Humanitarian Consequences: The potential for large-scale destruction, long-lasting radiation effects, and the risk of accidental or intentional use pose significant dangers to the world population. In summary, nuclear weapons represent immense power, but their existence also carries immense responsibility and risks. As Jesus’s voice faded into the echoes of the world, a new chapter unfolded in the annals of human history. In the aftermath of World War II, a chilling revelation dawned upon mankind—the power to wield destruction on a scale never before imagined. The veil of innocence had been lifted, revealing a Pandora’s box of unparalleled devastation. Amidst the ruins of war-torn nations, the specter of nuclear weapons loomed large, casting a shadow that stretched across the globe. The whispers of fear and awe swept through the populace, as the world grappled with the newfound reality of mankind’s capability for annihilation. In laboratories shrouded in secrecy, scientists toiled tirelessly to unlock the mysteries of the atom, delving into realms once thought untouchable. The seeds of destruction sown during the Manhattan Project bore bitter fruit as the first atomic bombs were unleashed upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki, forever altering the course of history. The world watched in horror as mushroom clouds blossomed over the cities, their ominous tendrils reaching for the heavens in a macabre dance of death. The destructive power unleashed by these weapons was unlike anything ever witnessed, leaving scars on the land and souls of those who survived. Fission and fusion—two sides of the same coin, each holding within its core the promise of untold devastation. The atomic bomb’s thunderous roar echoed through time, a stark reminder of humanity’s capacity for both creation and destruction. The balance of power shifted in an instant, as nations raced to claim their seat at the table of nuclear supremacy. The cold war that followed bore witness to a deadly dance of deterrence and brinkmanship, where the slightest misstep could spell disaster for all. As the world grappled with the ethical quandaries posed by these weapons of mass destruction, a sobering truth emerged—the line between salvation and damnation had blurred into obscurity. The shadows cast by Hiroshima and Nagasaki stretched far and wide, a stark reminder of the price humanity paid for playing god. And so, as the dust settled and the echoes of devastation faded into silence, one truth remained etched in the annals of time—the age of nuclear weapons had dawned, forever altering the course of human civilization. The death toll is 2 billion. It’s a shame people didn’t surrender to Christ but held their confidence in weapons that destroy the foundations of the earth.

Jeremiah 25:32-34
New International Version
32 This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“Look! Disaster is spreading
from nation to nation;
a mighty storm is rising
from the ends of the earth.”

33 At that time those slain by the Lord will be everywhere—from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered up or buried, but will be like dung lying on the ground.

34 Weep and wail, you shepherds;
roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock.
For your time to be slaughtered has come;
you will fall like the best of the rams.

Isaiah 63

God’s Day of Vengeance and Redemption
63 Who is this coming from Edom,
from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor,
striding forward in the greatness of his strength?

“It is I, proclaiming victory,
mighty to save.”

2 Why are your garments red,
like those of one treading the winepress?

3 “I have trodden the winepress alone;
from the nations no one was with me.
I trampled them in my anger
and trod them down in my wrath;
their blood spattered my garments,
and I stained all my clothing.
